The 2026 TSO Young Artist Competion will take place Saturday, February 21 in Bakersfield between 10am and 2pm. Please complete the application form with a $25 application fee by January 23.

Contestants must be between 14-22 years old as of May 17, and must be Kern County residents. Contestants perform a concerto movement or other approved piece for soloist and orchestra. Auditionmust be memorized for audition and performance.

The winner of the competion will perform with the orchestra May 5th, 2026 and must be available for 2 rehearsals prior to the performance. The winner will be awarded a $500.00 scholarship.
